There are three different printing methods for your output: High quality, Medium Draft, and Draft.
◊ High-quality
High-quality produces the best possible 300 dots per inch (dpi) output on the PLP. High-quality printing does everything possible to make your document look its best, using high-quality fonts wherever possible and smoothing screen fonts and bitmaps if desired.
◊ Medium Draft
Medium Draft (150 dpi) prints much faster than regular high-quality printing; however, it does not use the high-quality fonts and it does not smooth the text or graphics.
◊ Draft
Draft (75 dpi) mode is valuable for printing rough drafts very quickly. Draft printing does not use high-quality fonts, nor does it smooth the text or graphics.
• PLP Preview
PLP Preview is a “preview before printing” option available for all three print methods. It is located in the lower left corner of the Print dialog box, and when checked, allows you to preview your document on the screen before sending it to the printer.
• Now versus Later
◊ The Now, if memory permits option informs the PLP that documents should be printed right away, if there is enough memory to do so.
◊ Printing Later allows you to save your document for later printing. You will need to use the GCC Print Manager to print this document.
• Copies
The Copies option lets you specify the number of copies of the document to print, from 1 to 999.
• Page Range
The All option, which is the preset option, prints all of the pages in the document, from the first to last. The From/To options let you specify a range of pages to print.
• Paper Source
The Paper Source identifies the source of blank paper for the PLP. There are three options:
◊ Cassette Feed: the PLP will take paper from the paper tray.
◊ Manual Feed: This option requires that you manually feed the paper into the printer.
◊ Optional Paper Tray: For those who have purchased the optional paper tray that is designed to be placed underneath the printer, Optional Tray is another paper source. If the Optional Tray option is checked, the PLP will automatically feed paper from the optional paper tray.
